Next week, Galvamet together with VŠB Ostrava will submit the first accounts of the development of Dievar 3D printing with the support of HIP. The results seem perfect to me, but what next? Who will actually take care of it? At the same time, the number of printers continues to increase, the number of devices for HIP is also increasing, which is very good news, but the interest in this technology is decreasing. Personally, I believe that one of the reasons is the fatigue of failures, the second is the pressure to achieve results in the academic sphere without closing the entire chain of necessary post-processing technologies. So we can only hope that someone enlightened will be found who will use our results.

 

The pictures show samples from 3D printing after stress annealing and hardening after HIP application. In order for the results to be a reference, the coupons for the impact tests are hardened in the assembly with the load so that it is possible to evaluate the toughness  results as if a part weighing about 30 kg was hardened and tempered.
