28th National Conference on Heat Treatment

The 28th heat treatment conference took place in Jihlava. Although the participation was rich, I still missed the personalities from the past. Ota Prikner, Jirka Halásek, Olda Honzík or Tonda Policar. It can be seen that our generation is slowly leaving and is gradually being replaced by the new generation.

What did I learn here? Well, I have to objectively admit that this time almost nothing. At least for the two days I was there. I can only state indications from some lectures that energy saving will increasingly dominate these events. However, a common energy and emission label for heat treatment equipment is nowhere to be seen.

From the point of view of the presented companies, it is clear that there is a growing effort to promote low-pressure cementation and nitrocementation, so in addition to the traditionally present companies such as Fours BMI or SecoWarwick, I registered the return of ALD Vacuum Technologies and ECM Technologies, world leaders in this area.

And so the main benefit of the event was in the social evening, where many participants showed great humor and endless optimism. And that’s a lot.
